Hello everyone, I have another variety of Variegated African Violet, her name is Genetic Blush with semi-double light pink pansy or rose-pink flowers and dark green serrated leaves. The leaves of the African Violets are always delicate as well as there flowers.

HOW VARIEGATED AFRICAN VIOLET DISCOVERED AND WHO DISCOVERED IT?

When I saw African Violets, I always feel amused of the flowers, they are like rosettes, however, I did not really expect that there are also variegated varieties of these plants.

When I saw a lot of variegated plants around, I tried to search Variegated African violets and how I started to discover that there’s a lot of varieties. At first, I just admired them on the pictures posted online. I never thought I would be going to have them in my collections.

In the beginning, I wonder why how the variegated African violets begun and who discovered them?

Just because of my curiosity, I did search online and saw that these plant species were discovered in the wild during the early 20th century. Wow, it was a long time ago yet only a few people knew it existed.

According to the website: www.avavs.com, Variegated African violets, was A mutation of the “white pride” variety which was propagated by American hybridizer Mrs. Tommie Louise Oden. On the other hand, it also stated that the variegated African violet was first discovered in the tropical rainforest of Tanzania and Kenya in the late 19th century.

Furthermore, Mrs. Tommie Louise Oden is an enthusiast and known for her contributions to the African violet community, her work and dedication to cultivate more variegated varieties will be greatly honored and should be remembered all the time for all who love and enjoy the beauty of these cultivars.

At home, I enjoyed, and love Variegated African Violets, it helps reduces my stress level. In my collection, I have about eight varieties but over 300 plants. I enjoyed propagating them and selling them on Facebook Marketplace as well, giving them to some of my friends and or colleague
